This is a very inspirational story that I just read about the right attitudes towords one's work by Schwabs.Schwarbs was the founder of the Bethlehem steel foundry which was the third largest steel factory during his time.
Schwab has little education when he was young. At the age of 18, he started to work for one of the conmstruction sites owned by Andrew Carniege, known as the steel king of America .The moment he stepped into the site, he showed great self discpline. While other workers were complaining of low pay and lousy work conditions, Schwab did his work with meticouslousy. During his free time, he studied about civil engineering and constructins.
One night, when his colleaques were busy gossiping away, Schwabs was busy reading a book at a corner. It so happened that the manager of the company dropped in to have a surprise visit. The manager had a look at the book that Schwab was reading and also the notes he was having. The next day, the manager called up Schwab and asked him why he was learning all those stuff for.Schwab replied that he felt that the company was not short of labourers but experienced workers with the technical knowledge. The manager concurred with him and not long after promoted him to be the technician. When some of his fellow workers felt jealous and tried to tease him,Schwab replied with a classic. He told them that he didn't work for hisboss only nor for the money. He said he has a greater purpose that is he is working to fulfill his dream. He said that if we keep improving ourselves in our work until the value we create far exceed our pay, then only we will be offered promotions and opportunities for a beteer future.
At the age of 25, Schwab became the general manager of the company he started to work for. Many years later, he founded his own company which was knwon as Bethlehem steel, the third largest steel company in America.
the story very nice, just sharing to everone!
